    1. Different staffs have different standards. 2. There are only one shower and two toilets for all the guests. 3. The stairs to the second floor are very steep that can be difficult for some people to go up and down. 4. The space is very limited in the dorm room.
    1. It is conveniently located near subway station, bus stops, and attractions including Gion area. 2. It is about 100 year old building which can provide a "cultural" experience.

Lovely little hostel. Cool location in a shopping arcade! Perfect for our one night stay in Okayama.

    Hibari House - Lovely place!

A little noisy I would say as there are no doors and sound travels quite far. Also the light can be a problem. With eye mask and ear plugs it’s ok but didn’t have the greatest sleep
Very good facilities and all seem to be pretty much brand new. Very clean and staff very welcoming! In a good location not too far from station or castle/garden (especially if you get the streetcar).

The dorms don't have a door, so it can be noisy if people had to leave early in the morning or arrive late in the night. The dorm is not big, so you don't have space to leave your luggage inside the dorm, you have to put it in the comum area.
You can see that the proprety is new and well designed with nice graphics and signage everywhere. The staff is nice and ready to help. You can find everything you need for shower and for small cooking stuff. The breakfast is good and not expensive (for Japan).

I would recommend it!! It worth it.

There are no doors, except the lavatories. That means you can hear everything what happend in the kitchen, while you are in your bed. The dinnerware for the breakfast was all one-use material out of plastic, a more ecofriendly solution would be nice...
The staff was very kind and helpful. They gave us some helpful tips to go to take a bath or to eat good. The breakfast was delicious.

Great place to stay in Okayama city

No convenient parking near this guest house--better for people commuting by train I think. The neighbourhood around this guest house is a bit quiet in spite of looking like a major shopping street. Personally I prefer surrounding areas that are more lively and have more people/passion in them.
Building's design and ambience/comfort were fantastic. General cleanliness was there and so was a pretty good breakfast.

An efficient and nice stay in a vois situation of Okayama!

For a hostel the beds and shower places where really nice, and clean. The curtains on bunk beds are especially a gond option for well sleeping!

    A cosy, compact, pleasant stop

Rooms a little lacking in space with everyone's luggage in the way - but then your out most of the time, so not a big issue.
A cosy, compact hostel with all the basic facilities. Clean and tidy, well build beds fitted with power sockets and a pull down blind, which was excellent. Gorgeous outdoor seating area - though need to wrap up warm in the winter! Welcoming and helpful staff. Set above their partner café where you can enjoy a meal, a drink and lovely music after a busy day out. Would happily stay again.

The only downfall for me was the location of the hostel. Although it was under a 30 minute walk from the station, after a whole day of exploring and trekking, a 30 minute walk to the downtown area near the station can seem quite the distance. However there is quick access by a tram but sometimes I could not be bothered paying. It would have been nice if the hostel has a few recommendations for restuarants nearby the hostel that were friendly to foreigners and were less intimidating then some of the hidden izakayas nearby.
Hibari House was a very cute and dainty hostel in the quieter side of Okayama. It was situated within one of those covered shopping arcades you find in most japanese cities, but remained very quiet. The beds were comfortable, the facilities were clean and the staff were very helpful. What was unique about this hostel is that the first floor was a cafe and an event space at the same time. On two of the nights, there were events in the ground floor (a gig and some other event) but usually stopped before 11pm.

I didn't like the room. The bed was too small, it felt like a coffin. I chose the female room and you could here everything from the mixed room, which was right next to it, without a door separating them. Also, the toilets, showers and sinks are all mixed, which is something I don't enjoy very much, so if you're like me, have that in mind.
It's located in a really nice place, easy to access and with lots of shops nearby. It's also realtively close to the Castle and the Kourakuen Garden.
